Description of the trip!
Below are detail of trip from day 1-14th day
9th March:
Arrival at Entebbe Airport, 03:00 am we meet our tour guide and transfer to our Hotel for an Overnight in Kampala / Entebbe. City tour in Kampala for change of money, visit home office- tailoring for African shirts and dresses, optional African handcrafts shopping, and Historical Kasubi tombs and visit the historical monuments like the Catholic and Protestant cathedrals and possibly visit the reptile village for the Pythons. Overnight Esella hotel kampala. Depening on arrival.
10th March:
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park The Giraffe Paradise!, Just out of Kampala your guide will point out to the Popular Luwero triangle and continue through the Savannah assorted with Acacia and Shrubs- Early Lunch in Masindi Hotel and advance into the Park (Kanio Pabidi tropical forest) in the afternoon yet another highlight in the Afternoon-2-5pm a 3hours Boat ride to the base of Falls where you get to see the Hippos, (You have never seen more hippos yawning, Grooming in there Pods anywhere else than here- Believe me you)! The Nile Crocodiles, Elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the falls. If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch them Overnight in Red chilli.
11th March:
An early cup of tea/coffee at 6:00am Ferry crossing, to the Game drive Nile river Bank to the broad savannah for the most likelihood Big cats hunting, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76 we continue browsing the Drive circuits to the Delta point for a cocktail of Birds and mammals –after lunch transfer out to visit the top of the falls. This is a magnificent classic highlight on our 1st day as an explosive dash of water at close range gushes through a narrow crevice. Overnight in kanio pabidi jane goodhal institute.
12th March:
An early optional walk in the kanio pabidi forest / Chimps or forest walk If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch some forest species, then transfer to hoima Dinner, over night kontik hotel (preferably Hoima- to cut distance tomorrow)
13th March :
After breakfast transfer It’s a long drive with our target to have lunch in Fort portal as the distance was cut yesterday the pressure and fatigue is lessened, a punctuation of stopovers at sceneries like the Rift valley escarpment on Lake Albert (seen yesterday) - typical African village setup in the far countryside offer us chances of stretching, tea plantations along the drive ways as we check in late afternoon, if arrival is early, an amazing display of primates in this area over the craters. Over night Nkuruba.
14 March:
After breakfast to Kibale Forest National Park. After breakfast to Kibale Forest National Park through to bigodi famous swamp, We stretch out for a walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary and meet the local birding guides, the wetland is also a home to different monkey species - red colobus, red tailed monkey, grey cheeked mangabeys More in the forest area - colored aviation creatures-butterflies various Bird species like the native Great blue Turaco, (we can have lunch at a local community in a native way of welcome and arranging sitting on mats plus herbal tea and coffee bean snacks is a welcome to visitors here) Over night Nkuruba cottages.
15 March:
After breakfast village walk and a hike to mahoma falls. and drive further southwards with the Rwenzori ranges (Longest in Africa) in View or Drive through the Crater lakes in the Hills through to sample out the surprising Diversity of Savannah trees and wildlife! at Overnight in White house Kasese.
16 March:
Game viewing rush out to the southern sector of the park-Chimps walk in kalinzu forest, Chimp walk here in this pristine forest 3pm and get ready for the Classic highlights on the 2hrs Boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel 36kms linking Lake George - lake Edward, land and water Adapted Hippopotamuses Yawning and some slashing canines to each other and the National Geographical society Killing machine the Nile Crocodile gaping along the Banks! Savannah versions of Pigs the Warthog- Pumba of the award winning Lion King are a hallmark sign in this Animal home! Overnight at Simba camp.
17th March:
Queen Elizabeth National Park in the cool morning, an early game drive that exposes us to diverse animals, Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats- Lions, Leopards more times in the evening, warthogs- Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas are spotted along the Circuits as we drive along the and many more species that are residents to this park, relaxation afternoon, Overnight at Simba camp.
18th March:
Transfer to ishasha and later we shall go through Ishasha for Topis, plus the southern version of Elephants and get the Lions high in the Fig tree branches normally after midday- game view drive under the thorny savannah trees plus and a walk to the ishasha river for primates and Hippos. overnight at ishasha camp bandas
19th March:
at Ishasha, we will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area with Topis, plus the southern version of Elephants and get the Lions high in the Fig tree branches normally after midday game view drive under the thorny savannah trees, we set out and drive out to the impenetrable forest excellent feeling in the forest and a more golden scenery here! Set off to Rwanda we further drive out to cross the relaxed border post as Congolese traders will be seen requesting for Hitch hiking around- overnight at Muhabura Ruhengeri.
20th March:
We do the Gorilla trekking briefing time is 7 o’clock Rwanda Time at ORTPN office headquarters. Early breakfast of course; we drive up 12km to the base of the Volcanoes- we will be grouped into groups! The atmosphere warms you up as you have some coffee to re-charge as its under 15’C we will get into our cars and get driving into the molten lava bread as its tough for the cars as you get massaged, you enter forest for the trekking in search for the Rwandese Version of Gorillas the highlight of the day transfer after lunch and Enter Kigali a city in a country different from the rest of the great lakes countries (We visit the town life golf club, have tea there if in Time possibly tomorrow evening after a visit to the memorial site, and possibly transfer out). Overnight in Kigali.
21st March:
Genocide war Memorial- traditions and culture of Rwanda in the crafts villages if need be a visit to the memorial ground – your guide will be throwing light on this former French –Belgium colony on how the apocalypse started and how it ended with a backup from the video graphic representation of this story- will arrive. Transfer, drive to and cross the active border post - target destination the Switzerland of Africa along Lake Bunyonyi - it has a private 16-hectare island with small Resident and exotic bird species singing in this coolest area in Uganda below 10C some nights! It’s also a rare Bilharzias free lake (You can swim). Dinner and over night Dinner and over night Bushara islands.
22nd March:
Relaxation day with short list of activities, canoeing and visiting village islands- cultural dance by Children, Option- hiking on Bushara trail along the lakeshores, returns to the hotel and relax, afternoon canoe ride along the lake, visit local market or climb the hill. Lake Bunyonyi with small Resident and exotic bird species singing is also fine for swimming as it’s a bilharzias free lake. Dinner and over night Bushara islands.
23rd March:
After Lunch transfer to Lake Mburo, the ‘Zebra magnet’ continue driving thru the Hilly areas, out of the vast savannah dotted with acacia and shrubs, Lunch in Mbarara as we game drive for view of Zebras, Topis, Warthogs, cape buffaloes, impalas just in time to (Catch the Boat cruise at 4pm yet a great highlight - native Birds animals along the banks, Crocodiles, Hippos yawning and more birds 2 hours fishermen along as we Overnight in Wildlife tents or Bandas.
24th March:
Early morning walk, get early up to visit the hyenas den, chance to see Leopards, zebras, waterbucks, birds buffaloes in there day break jungle life! Get back for breakfast, Game safari out for a drive back 4, 1/2hrs early stop over at equator and early Lunch in masaka. Overnight in Entebbe for the overnight flight at 4:00am on the 25th march
