Queen Elizabeth National Park
The park is situated at the base of Mountain Rwenzori and covers over 2000sq km. It offers an East African game park with crater-dotted hills and open grassland. The park is a home to many wildlife including Elephants, lions, leopards, antelopes, the giants forest hog and waterbucks.
The Park has a 32km range distance from the Kazinga Channel that links Lake Edward to Lake
George. This Channel is also said to contain the worlds largest concentration of Hippos and the Nile Crocodiles all viewed while having a Boat Cruise.
A Unique experience is offered at Chambura Gorge, where visitors can enjoy a walking Safari along the river through the tropical forest where Redtail, Black and white Colobus Monkeys and Chimpanzees are often found.
The park is also a bird watcher’s paradise with more than 560 species of birds. This is said to be home to more than a quarter of Africa’s total birdlife.
A much less visited area is the southern part of Ishasha renowned with its tree Climbing Lions whose habit of lounging in the tree branches is not Usually found in other Lion Populations.
