Rwanda a landlocked Republic in Equatorial Africa is located on the eastern rim of the Albertine Rift, a western arm of the Great Rift Valley, on the watershed between Africa's two largest rivers the Nile and the Congo. Often called the "Land of a thousand hills".

Main National Parks:

Volcanoes National Park in the Virunga Mountains

The Volcanoes National park found in the Virunga conservation area of the volcanic mountains with its high altitude forests, are world famous for mountain gorillas - timid and passive family oriented giants - which is teeming with wildlife both large and small, while Lake Kivu to the west offers beautiful beaches, jutting peninsulas and an archipelago of islands.

Akagera National Park:

Akagera National Park is located in the east of Rwanda . Set at a relatively low altitude on the border with Tanzania . It is above all the big game country-With elephants, buffalos, giraffes, lions and antelopes beginning to be seen. The labyrinth of swamps dominates the Park scenically and lakes that follow the meandering course of the Akagera River , the most remote source of the Nile , this is an African savannah landscape of tangled acacia woodland interspersed with open grassland. This park could not be more different from the cultivated hills that characterize much of Rwanda .

Gorilla Trekking. This is one of the most attractive and interesting among all activities in Rwanda . There are currently five groups habituated to visitors.

  • Susa group-has 35 individuals located on the Karisimbi volcano.

  • Sabinyo group-has 10 located between Visoke volcano and Sabinyo.

  • Group 13-14-located on Sabinyo volcano

  • Umubano group-has 7 individuals located on Visoke volcano.

  • Amahoro group-has 15 individuals located on Visoke volcano.

Gorilla Briefing Rules before Trekking.

  • Do Not touch them. They ‘re wild animals. This prevents disease transfer.

  • Do Not Spit in the jungle.

  • Do Not eat; drink when close to the Gorillas.

  • Flash photography is not allowed. They might get scared

  • Keep your voice low.

  • Keep at least 7metres away from the Gorillas.

  • Always obey the local.

GORILLA PERMITS: Permits cost 500US Dollars each. And can be booked at least 3months prior to the visit. Payments can be made through our international Bank Accounts.

 

ARRIVING THERE:

The international Flights that arrive in Kigali are with Rwandair Express, Ethiopian Airlines, SN Brussels, Kenya Airways, and Air Burundi.
It is a 10’km drive from the Airport to Central Kigali
.  

CURRENCY USED IN RWANDA.
Rwanda franc is the unit of currency. It is always advisable to exchange your money while still in Kigali, as it may be hard to exchange your money away from the capital. The USA Dollar is another easy preference used. Credit cards can be accepted in all major Hotels in Kigali.
