Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The park is Located in the South Western part of Uganda at the base of Mountain Rwenzori and covers over 1978sqkm.It lies mostly on a Flat open savannah grass land which makes it very easy to spot animals during game drives.

The park can be reached from Kampala through Fortportal-Kasese high way and use the main Entrance at Mweya/ or from Kampala through Masaka-Mbarara High way and can use the katungulu gate.

The park is a home to many wildlife like Hippos, Buffalos, The giant forest hog, leopards, many water bucks, Elephants, crocs and lots more.

Queen Elizabeth has a 32km range water Channel (Kazinga Channel) which links Lake Edward and George. This channel is said to contain the world’s largest concentration of Hippos.

A Unique experience is offered at Chambura Gorge where visitors can enjoy a walking Safari along the river through the tropical forest where the Red tail, Black and White Colobus Monkeys and Chimpanzees are often found.

The park is also a bird watchers paradise with more than 560 species of birds. This is said to be home to more than a quarter of Africa’s birdlife.

The park is also blessed with its famous tree climbing Lions found in the Ishasha region near Congo. This is quite a unique experience seeing lions relaxed in the Fig trees on the carved branches.
