UGANDA NATIONAL PARKS
Bwindi National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a world heritage site and the safest place to track habituated gorillas in Africa. There are also chimpanzees, 90 other mammal species, and countless bird varieties.
Kibale Forest National Park
This lush and shady forest is home to 12 primate species, tropical birds and butterflies - track habituated chimpanzees and watch them play in the forest canopy, or marvel at the rare butterflies and 335 recorded bird species.
Semliki Reserve
Semliki, formerly known as the Toro Reserve, lies near the northern base of the Ruwenzoris in Uganda. The rich habitat of grassland, savannah, forest and wetland is home to diverse fauna, as well as 400 bird species and 300 butterfly species.
Rwenzori Mountains
Explore meandering rainforest and bamboo trails before emerging in a high altitude plateau on the mist-shrouded "Mountains of the Moon". Then take on Africa's 3rd highest peak - permanently ice-capped, and rated Uganda's most challenging.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
A bountiful reserve, with varied habitats that provide refuge to 606 bird species and 100 mammal species, including cobb, lion, leopard, elephant and the Giant Forest Hog.
Murchison Falls National Park
These dramatic Falls are part of Uganda's largest wildlife sanctuary - elephant, hippo, lion and giraffe roam the lush grasslands, while chimpanzees are found in the dense Budongo Forest.
