You’ll see what different parts of our beautiful Uganda can offer and hopefully be inspired to come for your own adventure!
DAY 1 – WELCOME TO UGANDA & THE SHOEBILL STORK
Landing in Uganda in the morning, the air is fresh with promise. Our guide Dona welcomed the Swiss couple for their 16-day Uganda tour. With energy still high, we headed to Tilapia Lodge by Lake Victoria. Later a Shoebill search at Mabamba Swamp was on the cards.

DAY 2 – NORTHBOUND THROUGH RHINO TERRITORY
We hit the road early, bound for the north. A stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary brought us face-to-face with these powerful creatures on foot. Later, the road passed bustling Gulu before settling for a night in the remote town of Kitgum.

DAY 3 – CULTURE & WILDLIFE IN KARAMOJA & KIDEPO
We entered Uganda’s wild northeast and met the Karamojong community—elders shared their traditional lifestyle before we continued into Kidepo Valley National Park. That evening: our first game drive through this raw and beautiful land.

DAY 4 – FULL DAY IN KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Cheetah territory in the morning, elephants by the river in the evening. Kidepo delivered rugged beauty, big game, and the kind of stillness you only find far off the tourist track.

DAY 5 – JOURNEY TO THE NILE
From the edge of the mountains to the banks of the Nile, today was a travel day filled with roadside stories, village views, and Uganda’s ever-changing scenery.
DAY 6 – GAME DRIVES, FALLS & BOAT CRUISE
A morning filled with giraffes and buffalo gave way to the thundering drama of Murchison Falls. The boat ride to the base was a crowd-pleaser—hippos galore and even elephants at the banks.

DAY 7 – SCENIC TRANSFER TO KIBALE
Driving south, the landscape softened into hills and forest. Fort Portal welcomed us with its crater lakes and green tea estates. We reached the primate haven of Kibale in the afternoon.
DAY 8 – CHIMPANZEES & CRATER LAKES
Trekking into Kibale’s jungle led to thrilling close-ups with chimpanzees. Later, we drove via the crater lakes region to reach the savannas of Queen Elizabeth NP.

DAY 9 – COMMUNITY WALK & KAZINGA CHANNEL CRUISE
A morning stroll through the village revealed how cacao and vanilla grow. Afternoon brought hippos, crocs and elephants as we cruised along the famous Kazinga Channel.
DAY 10 – INTO ISHASHA: TREE-CLIMBING LIONS AWAIT
The journey continued south. Driving through Queen Elizabeth NP, we entered the exciting Ishasha sector—home of Uganda’s famous tree-climbing lions.
DAY 11 – ISHASHA GAME DRIVE & COMMUNITY VISIT
A morning game-drive took us into the wilderness of Ishasha. In the afternoon, we connected with locals, some of whom are part of Mamaland’s Ishasha reformed poacher project. At our Topi Lodge this was a special day as it was time to hand out goats and ducks as support to members of the Ishasha reformed poachers. When you travel with us you support this important project that combines conservation and community support.

DAY 12 – GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI
An early start, then into the rainforest. Heart-pounding anticipation, followed by peaceful awe as we spent a life-changing hour with mountain gorillas. No words, just wonder.

DAY 13 – RELAXATION AT LAKE BUNYONYI
After so much action, today was about peace. Birdsong, and misty island views from Lake Bunyonyi—a perfect recovery stop.
DAY 14 – TO LAKE MBURO & EVENING GAME DRIVE
This compact park was a surprise hit—zebras, giraffes, and impalas dotted the golden grasslands. As the sun set, the atmosphere turned magical.
DAY 15 – SAFARI WALK & EQUATOR STOP
The final walk brought us face-to-face with Mburo’s morning wildlife. A stop at the Equator was the perfect symbolic moment—before returning to Tilapia Lodge by Lake Victoria to reflect on the journey.
DAY 16 – EARLY FLIGHT, LAST GOODBYES
Before dawn, we waved farewell. This 16-day Uganda tour had been full of life, nature, and genuine connections.
