Over the past weekend Edrisa and Hamza took a couple from USA for a 3 days gorilla trekking safari. For many of our visitors this is a long time dream coming true, so when starting off from Entebbe there is a lot of excitment. The journey down to Bwindi takes basically a full day, but offers nice sights of the Ugandan countryside and a taste of the varied nature found here. Driving by swamps of papyrus, farmland, rolling green hills and on to the forest covered mountains of Bwindi, the home of the mountain gorillas.
The next day it was time for the highlight of mountain gorilla trekking. Our visitors headed in to the jungle in a group with a specialized guide and trekked to the gorillas where they spent 1 hour with them. After the trek the journey continued down the mountain to Topi Lodge, at the edge of the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, where our visitors could relax after the trek and enjoy the lovely view. Next morning the team enjoyed a relaxed breakfast on the lodge’s terrace before starting the journey back to finalize the trip.
