Masai Mara

Masai Mara is a National Reserve in Kenya that is world famous for its wildlife. Visitors come here to see lions, leopard, cheetah, hippo, elephant and more in their natural habitat. A game-drive on the open savannah gives the excitement of not knowing what you are going to see next.

A special attraction here is the annual wildebeest migration. When over one million wildebeest together with large numbers of zebras and other antelopes migrate between Serengeti in Tanzania and Masai Mara in Kenya.

Big cats in Masai Mara

When heading out for a game-drive on the savannah of Masai Mara a big goal for sure is to see big cats. In this reserve there are lion, leopard and cheetah. With the lion population being around 850 to 900 within the reserve your chances of spotting an impressive male lion or a pride with females and cubs are good.

Leopards who are regarded as more shy then the lions can as well be spotted within the reserve. Keeping your eyes on the trees is a good advice to sight one, since they enjoy resting from a vantage point or eating their pray in a tree. Masai Mara is as well blessed to be home to the worlds fastest land animal, cheetah.
