Day by day itinerary for our Uganda Honeymoon safari:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE AIRPORT & TRANSFER TO HOTEL

Arrive in Entebbe for your honeymoon safari in Uganda. You are picked at the airport and transferred to the hotel in Entebbe to relax after the flight.

DAY 2: AFTER BREAKFAST TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK, THE ‘ZEBRA MAGNET’

Leave Entebbe for the journey down to Lake Mburo NP. Along the way we make a stop by the Equator for a chance to take pictures where the northern and southern hemispheres meet. We target to arrive at the lodge by Lake Mburo NP in time for lunch, check in and then later in the afternoon head out for a game-drive. The afternoon game-drive gives the chance to see zebras, topis, giraffes, warthogs, cape buffaloes, impalas and native birds. After the game-drive you enjoy an evening in this luxurious lodge, the first during your honeymoon safari.

DAY 3: SAFARI WALK IN LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI MOUNTAINS

Get up for an early morning safari walk; chance to see Leopards, zebras, waterbucks, birds and buffaloes in their day break jungle life! Get back to the lodge for breakfast and then start the drive to Bwindi mountains. This journey offers beautiful scenery taking you from cultivated hills on to forest covered mountains. We have lunch along the way and arrive for checking at the lodge in the late afternoon.

DAY 4: GORILLA TREKKING DAY- BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the mountain gorillas. Have an early breakfast before heading to the starting point of the highlight of the honeymoon safari your Gorilla trekking adventure. You will head in to the forest with a specialized guide, walk through beautiful jungle and finally get to spend one hour with the mountain gorillas of Bwindi. This Impenetrable Forest is as well full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas and dikers. When you have finished your trekking adventure transfer to the lodge at the edge of Queen Elizabeth NP’s southern Ishasha sector.

DAY 5: MORNING GAME-DRIVE IN ISHASHA & TRANSFER TO MAIN PART OF QUEEN ELIZABETH NP FOR RELAXED AFTERNOON AT THE LODGE

In the early morning we will drive off in the adventurous vast savannah of the Ishasa sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, known for its tree-climbing lions. Here we have chance to see Topis, buffaloes, elephants and hopefully find the lions high in the Fig tree branches. This is one of two areas in Africa where lions have the habit of regularly climbing trees to take a rest. After the game-drive we make the journey northwards on the adventurous road leading through the park to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth NP. Along this road you can be lucky to see elephants, monkeys and even big cats. Check in at the lodge and spend the afternoon relaxing and taking in the nice views at the lodge.

DAY 6: CHIMPS TREKKING IN KYAMBURA GORGE AND BOAT-CRUISE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL

In the morning we make the journey to Kyambura gorge to trek our close cousins the chimpanzees. You go in a group with a specialized guide and trek through the gorge to hopefully get a good sighting of the chimps. The gorge itself offers a special nature experience as it is a forest covered gorge in the middle of the savannah. After lunch at it is time for the last adventure of the honeymoon safari the classic highlights of a 2hrs boat-cruise on the famous Kazinga channel, a 36km channel linking Lake George – Lake Edward. From the boat you can see land and water adapted Hippopotamuses yawning and some slashing canines to each other and the National Geographical society killing machine the Nile Crocodile gaping along the banks, Savannah version of Pigs the Warthog- Pumba of the award winning Lion King are a hallmark sign in this Animal home! After the boat-cruise you have a relaxed evening at the lodge.

DAY 7: FLIGHT FROM MWEYA TO ENTEBBE AIRPORT

Enjoy a last breakfast in Uganda and then your guide takes you to the airfield for the flight to Entebbe airport as you finish your honeymoon safari in Uganda. Plan for a late afternoon or evening flight from Entebbe or add an extra night to fly the next day.
