Murchison Falls National Park is the largest National Park in Uganda, covering about 3,893 Sq Km, and it is the Giraffe paradise of Uganda. The park gets its name after the Murchison Falls that are within it, here the Nile is pushed through a 7 m gap down a 43 m fall. A visit to the top of the falls is an impressive experience. Murchison’s is the giraffe paradise of Uganda, being one of three places they can be seen in Uganda (the other being Kidepo Valley NP and Lake Mburo NP).
A game drive will enable you see lots of wildlife including the Water bucks, Jackson Heartbeast, Impalas, The Uganda Kobs, Elephants, Giraffes, Warthogs, herds of Buffaloes, the Oribi, lots of Hippos, lions and many more. For bird lovers, there are over 360 species of birds recorded in Murchison Falls, a famous birding area being the royal mile. Rare shoebill storks can be spotted, The Fish Eagles, the crested cranes, the kingfisher, the great blue Turaco and lots more. Chimp tracking is possible in Budongo forest at Kaniyo Pabidi as you enter the park. A boat cruise on the Nile will enable you get close to the Sun bathing Hippos, Lots of Crocodiles, birds, and other animals that get close to the water for quenching their thirst.

A 5-6hrs drive from Kampala will take you to the largest National Park in Uganda. The park can also be reached by Air. Chattered flights can land at the Airstrip with in the park.
