A couple from Denmark went on a safari adventure in Uganda with us in early January and had some amazing experiences as seen from the Pictures from an adventure in Uganda. They started their adventure in Kibale Forest National Park, where they had a full day with the chimpanzees during habituation. In Kibale Forest visitors can chose to go for Chimpanzee habituation instead of Chimpanzee trekking. The difference between these two experiences is that the visitors who go for chimpanzee habituation spend four hours with the chimpanzees instead if the regular one hour that is allowed during chimpanzee trekking.
Continuing on with the the Uganda adventure they went to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here they had on the itinerary to explore the area with game-drives, a boat-cruise and chimps trekking. The boat-cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park took them out on Kazinga channel which is a natural channel connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. During this boat-cruise they could see elephants, hippos, buffaloes and crocodile enjoying the water.
After this they continued on to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This sector is famous for its tree-climbing lions. Spending time in the Ishasha sector allowed them to get great sightings of the tree-climbing lions.
The next stop on the journey was Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home of the mysterious Mountain Gorillas. Here it was time for the top highlight of the Uganda safari: to head into the forest to meet the gentle giants close up.
After a few days in the beautiful Bwindi mountains area the journey went on to Lake Mburo National Park to see zebras, giraffes and more. Here they headed out for a game-drive as well as a safari walk.
The last stop on the safari was by Mabamba swamp (IBA birdlife international) where the peculiar looking shoebill stork was sighted.
