Travel to Uganda in October

Can you travel to Uganda in October? This is a question you might be thinking about if you are planning a Uganda safari and the best travel time for you is the month of October. Our opinion is that you can travel to Uganda any time of the year. We are located by the Equator and blessed with a great climate.

Lets look into some more details below and tag along for an ongoing safari so you get to see live pictures from a safari in Uganda in October.

October in Uganda

Uganda has two seasons: wet season and dry season. The high season for tourism equals the dry season. (Learn more about the seasons in this blog post about when to travel to Uganda)The month of October falls under the wet season and low season for tourism.

In Uganda the wet season doesn’t mean that it rains all day long. Normally we get an hour or so of rain per day and the rest of the day is sunny and comfortably warm. The savannah is wonderfully green and animals can be seen enjoying it. If choosing to travel to Uganda in October you can enjoy the calm of less tourists around and therefore a nicer wilderness experience.

Tag along for a Uganda safari in October

We are now in the month of October and right now our guide Madi is taking a team from Spain on a journey through Uganda. Pictured above is Madi with our visitors enjoying a meal on a terrace close to nature at Topi Lodge. They started off from Entebbe airport to go on a 17-days safari in Uganda, a version of our 15-days Magic of Nature Uganda safari. We tailor-make itineraries to fit our visitors wishes so a couple of days have been added into the itinerary.

The adventure started off by heading south to Lake Mburo National Park, where the zebras were a highlight. You can see on the picture below what we mean by that to travel to Uganda in October lets you see the animals enjoy a green savanna.

Gorilla trekking in the wet season

Our Spanish visitors enjoyed their Mountain Gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a few days ago. They got an unforgettable adventure with a close encounter with a Silverback Mountain Gorilla. Take a look at the video below.

Mountain Gorilla trekking in October is as you can see very possible. You’ll enjoy it with fewer visitors around and it is easier to book with short notice since it’s during low season with less pressure on the limited numbers of Gorilla trekking permits. Note  that it can be a bit wetter in the forest so make sure that you have good hiking boots as well as grab a walking stick from the Gorilla trekking starting point.
