Day by day itinerary for our Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary day trip:
DAY 1: Trekking rhinos at Ziwa rhino sanctuary
We meet our guide at the location of your choice in Kampala in the early morning to start the journey of around three hours to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. At Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary they are working to reintroduce rhinos in Uganda. Uganda’s rhinos were sadly hunted to extinction in the 80’s so it is a very important conservation work they are doing at the sanctuary. When reaching the sanctuary you go with a specialised guide in a small group to trek to the point where the rhinos are. It is an impressive site to see these peculiar looking close-up as you are standing on foot (this is safe since the rhinos have bad sight). After the trek you have lunch and then start the journey back to the city after a memorable Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary day trip.
If you wish to make it an overnight adventure it is possible to add a night at Amuka Lodge or Ziwa rhino guesthouse at the sanctuary.
