Ishasha Lodge Topi

If you are looking for a Ishasha lodge that gives you a comfortable close to nature stay look no further than Topi Lodge. When you stay at Topi Lodge you are just a 5 min drive from the southern gate to Ishasha, Queen Elizabeth National Park. During safaris our guides have even found the tree-climbing lions at the turnoff to Topi Lodge. So at this lodge by Ishasha you are close to the wild!

The rooms at Topi Lodge

At Topi Lodge you will find spacious rooms that are all self-contained. The safari style decor and natural materials gives a lovely ambiance. Each room has its own veranda where you can relax and take in the surrounding nature.

The restaurant at this Ishasha Lodge

Topi Lodge’s restaurant blends well with the surrounding nature so you enjoy nature even during meal times. Arguably this is among the lodges in Queen Elizabeth National Park that serves the best local food inspired meals. Here you can try matoke, local meat stews, a “rolex breakfast” and other dishes with a local touch. If you don’t have time to spend a night in Ishasha you should definitely stop by Topi Lodge for a lunch when passing through Ishasha.

Activities by Topi Lodge

The highlight among activities around is of course a game-drive in Ishasha. Ishasha is known for its tree-climbing lions. It is actually a rare behaviour for these big cats to regularly climb trees and is truly a special sight to see a big lion resting on a branch! Besides the tree-climbing lions a game-drive in Ishasha lets you see for example topi, elephant, cape buffalo, Uganda cob and possibly a leopard sighting.

For birders Ishasha offers opportunity to see Marshal Eagle, larks, Lappet faced vulture, Terek Sandpiper among other ticks.

The lodge offers a community walk you shouldn’t miss if you have the time. Topi Lodge has Queen Elizabeth National Park on one side and then the community on the other. A guided walk down into the village close by gives you insight into how life is here and warm meetings with Uganda’s friendly people. Topi Lodge has a strong connection to the community around by for example supporting reformed poachers.
