Queen Elizabeth National Park safari – 4 days

Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park during this varied safari including chimps trekking, boat-cruise, game-drive and a community walk. Start the second day by trekking chimps in Kalinzu forest and doing the exciting boat-cruise on Kazinga channel, the next day you enjoy an early morning game-drive and in the afternoon go for a community walk as well as relax by the lodge enjoying the magnificent view over Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day by day itinerary:

 

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

 
Start your Queen Elizabeth national park safari early to get out of Kampala before traffic jam, stop for a coffee break and photo poses at the equator. Continue on for lunch in Mbarara or at the lodge depending on time. Drive through some villages with cultivated areas until the lush green tea estates in a rich green belt before the escarpment leading to Queen Elizabeth national park. Check in and enjoy magnificent endless views from your overnight place as the sun sets.
Drive time: Around 7 hours
Overnight: Pumba safari cottages (Superb to appreciate the African star lit sky here)
 

Day 2: Chimps trekking and boat-cruise

 
After breakfast we head over to Kalinzu forest to trek chimps and enjoy the jungle. After the trekking drive back to the lodge for lunch. When having finished lunch we get ready for the Classic highlights on the 2hrs boat-cruise on the famous Kazinga channel at 3pm, this is a 36kms channel linking Lake George – Lake Edward. Here you can see land and water Adapted Hippopotamuses Yawning and some slashing canines to each other and the National Geographical society Killing machine the Nile Crocodile gaping along the Banks and Savannah version of Pigs the Warthog- Pumba of the award winning Lion King are a hallmark sign in this Animal home of Mamaland Uganda. With your Binoculars along the peninsula you have a magnificent view of Birds and animals like the ever playing African Elephants in Waters as we sigh and reset Fatigue and stress, to point zero.

Day 3: Morning game-drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon community walk & relaxation

 
Discover Queen Elizabeth National Park in the cool morning, an early game drive that exposes us to diverse animals, Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats- Lions, Leopards more times in the evening, warthogs and Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas and many more species that are residents to this park are spotted along the Circuits as we drive along. There is a rich bird life especially our version of storks in the wetland spots as we reach the Flamingoes in the salt lakes at Kasenyi. We get back to the lodge for lunch after the game-drive. In the afternoon we take a community walk to the nearby village and beautiful crater lake as well as have time to relax enjoying the view from the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala

 
Have a relaxed breakfast appreciating the views from the lodge one last time before embarking on the drive back to Kampala. Stop for lunch in Masaka and continue on to Kampala as your guide drops you at the end of your unforgettable Queen Elizabeth safari.

Included: Accommodation, meals, safari car, fuel, guide, park entries, gorilla permits (if applicable) and activities mentioned in the itinerary. Plus water in the car and a couple of fruits along the way.
Excluded: International flights, visas, drinks, tips and personal expenses.
Accommodation: In general accommodation mentioned in the itinerary is good places on budget to mid-range level (with the exception of luxury safaris). The accommodation can be adapted to your price range of budget, mid-range or luxury. Of course a mix is also possible.
